Kay Enyart is an ASG- Los Angeles
member who attends and teaches at
the Academy of Couture Art in West
Hollywood.  The dress shown here was
a project for a class and was chosen to
be put on display at the Pacific Design
Center.

Here is Kay's description:
"This dress began as an idea in mid-
April...The fabric is a satin-face double
silk organza – a pill to cut, but very
easy to sew. Technically, I am still a
‘student’ at the Academy, but have
been teaching there for a year."
Amazingly, Kay cut and sewed this
dress in 3 days!
Kay continues..."The dress-body is
based on a princess-seam torso body
that I drafted. At the Academy, ALL
patterns are drafted from
measurements – it is common at Otis
and FIDM to give the students pre-
made blocks, from which they
manipulate designs, but that does a
terrible disservice to anyone interested
in true pattern design. They do not
learn how to work with measurements."
